The Final Push!

Thanks to the generosity of Black & Veatch employees and their families at various fundraising events, the final 3000 square metres of grass was bought for the Edendale School.

On Saturday 8 March 2015, the school laid on a braii for the final 1000 square metres planting which was carried out by Black & Veatch volunteers, teachers and students and 'The Friends of Edendale'.

The Girls' Hostel Choir sang some great songs to help the workers keep up their rhythm!

Afterwards, the first soccer match was held on some of the pre-planted grass.

How the sportsfield is looking half way through - January 2015

The Edendale School have now purchased a tractor mower and a basic irrigation system.  Around two thirds of the pitch has been laid now and the grass we have planted so far is looking good.

It's looking like a football field now!

Power up your Passion and Fire up your Life talk

The author, Nicola Menage gave a motivational talk 'Power up your passion and fire up your life' in November 2014.  All proceeds were donated to the Edendale sportsfield.

Black & Veatch choose the sportsfield as a 'Christmas in October' project

Thanks to the generosity of Black & Veatch, a magnificent total of 3000 sq metres of grass was laid as an act of charity as part of the Christmas in October initiative.

Over 40 people also gave up their free time on Saturday 25 October 2014 to help lay the newly delivered turf.

Golf Day - 5 November 2014

A fabulous day dawned for the 1st Ladies Golf competition which was held at the Silver Lakes Golf Course.  All proceeds went to extra resources for the school (not just the sportsfield).
